Our Exclusive Garden Tour at The Falls

One thing you can be sure of with country folk; if we've endured a long hot dry summer, we will be far more appreciative for rain rather than bothered by it.

Faced with what could be considered a challenging forecast for our Exclusive Garden Tour at The Falls last Thursday, we made the unanimous decision to delay tea & coffee and embark first on the Tour before the heavens opened upon us. I'm pleased to say that we made the right decision, and boy was it worth per suing. What a lovely day we had.

Head gardener Marcelle guided us through one of the most stunning and largest gardens in the country. This exclusive garden oasis is based at the foot of a unique natural water fall and is centred around a fairyland lake and beautiful stone pavilion. I am so lucky to have been several times now and the grounds continue to captivate me at every turn. I truly feel so privileged to stroll through it.

The garden's expansive sweeping lawns are peppered with a large variety of ornamental deciduous trees and sprinkled with mature natives. The walk across the foot bridge looking over the creek is possibly my favourite part, though I also find myself gushing over something else every few steps. The features of this garden and the stone structures are seriously stunning.

We completed our day with a gourmet picnic in the lakeside pavilion, a treat in itself. I do always enjoy listening to engineers, builders and admirers alike inspecting and appreciating the stonework and thatched roof of the accommodating pavilion. It was an honour to witness the beginning of new friendships and catch up with a few of my past customers from HH times, some of which were the very first to visit the hotel over 7 years ago. How special.

The best thing about the rain we got that day; in a state of relief, Marcelle invited us back again! We have one final date for the season being Monday 14th April. If this sounds like something you or your friends would enjoy, tickets are available here. It truly is an experience not to be missed.
